Why Windows Server and EAS

Familiar server OS

If IT already runs Windows Server, install EAS with the GUI wizard — no separate Linux box just for the guard UI.

Web admin in the browser

No thick Windows ACS client: security and HR use Chrome/Edge from any PC on the LAN.

ACS + video + map

One UI for passages, cameras, and the floor plan — same as Ubuntu and Astra.

90-day trial

The key is OS-bound: activates only on Windows Server. No credit card.

Install on Windows

Download the installer from the EAS hub. For sites without internet — use the offline package with bundled dependencies.

How to deploy

  1. Request a Windows trial key — 90 days
  2. Download setup.exe or the offline package and install on Windows Server (GUI)
  3. Open the admin in a browser and activate the license
  4. Add a ZKTeco C3 controller and the floor plan

Windows FAQ

Which Windows version?

Windows Server with a GUI. Install via setup.exe; lean/offline packages are on the hub.

Do we need a separate Windows ACS client?

No. The admin is a web UI in the browser. Guards work from any PC on the network.

Does Home Assistant run on the same Windows box?

On Windows Server, Home Assistant runs only on a separate Linux machine; EAS uses IP + token. There is no on-box HA on Windows.

Will an Ubuntu key work on Windows?

No. Trial keys are OS-bound: a Windows key activates only on Windows Server.
